Too Late

The figure ran,
his heart beating in the same rhythm with his flying paws,
consuming distance like never before.
The rain that pelted down felt like rocks that weighed on his conscience with every splash, the mud that's being churned by his very own paws sucked him in place, preventing him from advancing too fast.
But he must!
The last few steps took forever, the overhanging cliff dangled dangerously out into the unknown but he still plunged towards it,
his fore body sliding easily through the moss and grass, his paws zoomed out in front to catch the falling body...
but he lost again.
Too late... Too late.
The shape was slowly consumed by darkness as it fell lower and lower, soon disappeared from sight.
Was it tears that coursed down his cheeks? or was it rain?
He was too late... not once... but now... twice..
A howl ripped through the sky coincidentally synchronized with the first crack of thunder of the brewing storm...

This is Ash and a bit of his past? more like a snap shot of his past xD a little bit of his past. yaknow. FFT.
I tried to keep the falling figure, genderless for now :> I'm not telling who fell and what he/she meant to Ash yet. ...
I don't think I have a plan to 8I

This started out as a random sketch, at first I hated the sketch because it's all un-proportional and stuff (it still is D; ) but then i thought it was neat, so a little mental fight happened.

I decided to try colouring it to see what would happen.

And.
this.
happened. 8I
so rough. un-proportional. ugly. but MEH, i give. That's what happened. I don't like cliffs. Cliffs don't like me either lol 8D

Rain is hard ;A;
and that tears
and expression
and basically everything.
